PrairieFest
PrairieFest is Oswegoland’s own hometown celebration held every Father’s Day weekend. Organized by the Oswegoland Park District with the generous support of business sponsors, governmental agencies, community groups, and hundreds of volunteers, the festival entertains approximately 40,000 guests each June. The ever-growing lineup of events and activities in 2009 include: Continual main stage entertainment, Petting zoos, Hometown parade, Pet parade, Raft races, Beer garden, Quilt show, Bucket Brigade festivities, Civil War encampment, Mud volleyball tournament, PrairieFest car show, 5K race and one-mile fun run, Fishing competitions, Duck races, Pony rides, Children’s performers, Carnival , Craft and business expo. Oswego Unplugged… Live Music on the Green
Oswego Community Bank and the Oswegoland Park District invite you to settle in under the shade trees at the Village Green Park in downtown Oswego to enjoy three free performances by talented regional musicians. Catch some mid-week relaxation and fun for the entire family throughout the summer.
Movies in the Park
What could be better than enjoying a summer movie in the park under a canopy of stars? Mingle with neighbors and friends, bring a picnic, get lost in a good movie and enjoy the peaceful splendor of Village Green Park! Break the mid-week routine and join the community for movies, friends, and fun. Movies take place beginning at dusk.
Oswego Playhouse
Since beginning in 2002, the Oswego Playhouse, an all volunteer theatre group, has performed a full season of comedies and dramas for all tastes, including “The Gin Game,” “The Glass Menagerie,” and “Afternoon at the Seaside.” Each year, the Oswego Playhouse also hosts a Dinner/Theatre Event during the Oswego Art Fair Weekend and a Holiday Show during the Annual Christmas Walk celebration. Oswego County Market
Fresh-air, fresh produce, and friendly people! It’s all part of the Country Market experience on Sundays in downtown Oswego. You’ll find some of the best buys in produce, plants, baked goods, and other hand-crafted wares. The Market is located on Main Street, in the parking lot between N.M. Oswego Dragstrip Days
Oswego Drag Strip Days is hosted by the Village of Oswego’s Cultural Arts Commission in conjunction with the Historic Downtown Business Association (HODBA). You and your families won’t want to miss this exhilarating event celebrating one of the most exciting landmarks from Oswego’s past! Enjoy Oswego Drag Strip memorabilia, a Vintage and Classic Car Show, mouth-watering food, and fantastic music. Held on Main Street in downtown Oswego.
Oswego Fine Art Fair
The Oswego Fine Art Fair has something for everyone to enjoy! Guests of all ages will be delighted by an assortment of attractions including children’s art activities, musical entertainment and fine art by artists from across the country in a variety of media including textiles, sculptures, canvas paintings, photography and jewelry. Admission to the event is free and all artwork is available for purchase. Held in historic downtown Oswego on Main Street.
Chukkers for Charity
Hosted by the Rotary Club of Oswego, the annual Chukkers for Charity is held at the Arranmore Farm in Oswego. World class polo players will compete in an exhibition match to benefit local charities. Christmas Walk
The sights and sounds of Christmas are captured in the natural warmth and ambiance of downtown Oswego for the annual Christmas Walk celebration. Hosted by the Village of Oswego, Christmas Walk is a time for local shops and the community to kick-off the season in true holiday spirit. From the lights on Main Street, to the parade, carolers, entertainment and of course Santa, Christmas Walk is a true Oswego tradition.
