Welcome TO OSWEGO

On behalf of the Village of Oswego, I am pleased to welcome you to our community. Whether you are visiting, or making Oswego your home, you will discover that there is a lot to see and do.

No visit to Oswego would be complete without seeing our downtown. There are several attractions, including the Little White School Museum, Hudson Crossing Park, and the Veterans Memorial Walk, which runs along Waubonsee Creek. There are many annual events in downtown Oswego, such as Christmas Walk, the Oswego Fine Art Fair, Drag Strip Days, and Wine on the Fox. Just across the Fox River is the new Village Hall, which will help anchor redevelopment projects in downtown Oswego.

The Oswegoland Park District maintains an extensive hike and bike trail system. There are year-round activities and events, such as PrairieFest, an annual festival that attracts more than 40,000 people over the Father’s Day weekend. The park district also operates Fox Bend Golf Course, one of the finest public courses in the Chicago area. Make sure to visit Pearce’s, the new restaurant that has opened at Fox Bend.

Oswego is home to the Fox Valley Winery, which is featured on the cover of the guide. This full service winery, which is located on Route 34, just west of downtown, produces more than 20 varieties of wine. Oswego is also a regional destination for shoppers and diners, as national retailers and restaurants continue to open in the Route 34 corridor.

It is a pleasure to welcome you to Oswego, Illinois. Information on accommodations, dining, shopping, and local attractions and events is available at www.visitoswego.org and at the Oswego Visitors Center, located at 26 W. Van Buren in downtown Oswego.

Sincerely,

Brian LeClercq
Village President
